The aim of my project is to represent the idea that technology is leading to a change in humans who use it. This then raises the questions: Would this be a progressive step forward, or a regressive step back for Mankind? Could this, in time, result in an erosion of identity? Face to face contact is becoming surplus to requirements, when most contact takes place via technology. According to Social Anthropologist Marilyn Strathern in ‘After Nature: English Kinship in the Late Twentieth Century’ (1992), we are moving towards a ‘Post-plural’ society, where social groups, and therefore individuals, can be disassembled or reassembled, as required. My final prints seek to embody my vision of the subject in post-plural society.
